TEXAS NAT'L GUARD
Two veterans who served their country. Now they're fighting for Texas. Not politicians — soldiers and builders who answer to the people, not a party.
U.S. Army veteran. Community leader. A man who served his country overseas and came home to serve his community in San Antonio. Edward isn't a career politician — he's a soldier who never stopped fighting, this time for the working families of Texas. He's running to bring the discipline, accountability, and selfless service he learned in uniform straight to the Governor's mansion.
U.S. Army veteran turned DFW entrepreneur. J.W. served his country in uniform, then came home and built businesses from the ground up — foundation repair, tech startups, marketing. He knows what it means to fight for something bigger than yourself. He's running to bring that same warrior's discipline and builder's mindset to the Texas Senate.
These aren't talking points — they're promises. Here's what we'll do on Day One and every day after.
Texas has the 6th highest property taxes in America — and no state income tax to show for it. We'll cap appraisal increases at 3% for ALL properties, move to 5-year appraisal cycles, and work to eliminate school district property taxes entirely. Your home shouldn't cost more in taxes than your mortgage.
Texans died in 2021 because the grid failed. Five years later, it's still not fixed. We'll mandate weatherization of ALL power plants, build strategic energy reserves, end the deregulated casino that rewards profits over reliability, and ensure no Texan ever freezes in the dark again.
We need border security AND common sense. More technology, more personnel, smarter processing. Not political stunts that cost billions and solve nothing. Texas businesses need workers. Texas families need safety. We can have both without treating immigrants as props.
66% of Texans are "very concerned" about food and consumer prices. We'll fight price gouging, expand affordable housing incentives, cap utility rate increases, and put money back in your pocket. Texas is rich — Texans shouldn't be struggling to eat.
Texas has the highest uninsured rate in America. That's not a badge of honor — it's a failure. We'll expand Medicaid, bring transparency to hospital pricing, lower prescription drug costs, and ensure rural Texans don't have to drive 100 miles to see a doctor.
Texas teachers are underpaid. Our schools are underfunded. Voucher schemes drain public schools to enrich private ones. We'll raise teacher pay to competitive levels, fully fund public education, and stop using our children's futures as political footballs.
"We took an oath to defend this country — and that oath didn't expire when we took off the uniform. Texas doesn't need another politician. Texas needs leaders who've already proven they'll put their lives on the line for something bigger than themselves."— Edward Giles & J.W. Marshall
